New Macbook Pro ---- Kernel Panic --- kernel_task

During a large transfer, this kernel panic came up.

We did put a 1 TB hard drive into this little MacBook Pro 13". It fits no problem but I am just throwing that in there to verify that heat wont be a problem or something similar.

What is your question?
To be clear, you installed the 1T drive and got it formated and put an OS on it and it was working fine before this transfer and crash?

Yep. My question is why did this kernel panic happen? If it it clear by this produced log, then great.

drive still works fine now. I just got a kernel panic and thought I'd mention the added parts that took it away from OEM/stock

I bow down to the Expert roaming this board that can read this log and tell you why this kp happen.

In the mean time, you should do all of the normal quick Mac fixes that can help your Mac stat happy.

Safe boot- holding down shift key on restart will clear boot caches.
Repair Permissions. - You knew that.
Run a directory structure rebuild using DiskWarrior if you have it.

Hmm. This Macbook was 2 hours out of the box before doing the transfer. That's why I am most confused. I would have performed step 1 and two but didn't see the need after just opening the box and transferring 670GB over the network to the laptop...then falling into this issue. I guess I was possibly hinting towards a hardware problem if something like this popped up the first day. After all, 670G is a decent amount of constant read from network and write to disk and hardware may have heated up enough if the hardware was pushed. thanks for your help, whichever way this goes.

Did you ever complete the transfer?

Nope, crashed 3 times.

Thanks for the points. What worked?

internal HD was OK and the network mount it came from caused the transmission problem. Thanks.
