Windows failed to start the DHCP Client. Error code: 5 Access denied
I am working on a Laptop that has Windows 7 on it. The DHCP client will not start. I get access denied when I try to start it. It is using the log-on account (Local Services).
I have found references to this problem with Vista but not Win 7.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the responce. I have tried that already. My problem seems to be a permission issue somewhere, not a dependencies issue. All Dependencies are running. I just can not start the DHCP Client. Everytime I try I get this message.
"Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on the Local Computer
Error 5: Access is denied."

Thi spc laptop has never been on a domain. I have tried downloading the drivers but it did not help.

This is not a domain computer. The services window is where I try to start it. Yes it is set to use teh Local service account. No this did not fix it. It is stopped and will not start.

I have already tried that one with no success.

No solution was provided, all though a lot of effort was put forth. Sometimes the only solution is "RRR" Reboot, Restore or Rebuild in that order...
