Lost the Print Spooler Service - How do I reinstall?
After a power outage, I restored all servers to operating status, however the 5 HP laser printers where offline. The Toshiba printers work fine. when i restarted the print spooler services and tried to access a printer the services goes down. Tried reinstalling services with sfc /scannow. The spoolsv.exe fine reinstalls but the service does not show up in the services mmc. Does anyone know why I cannot get the spooler to stay active. And how do i establish the service in the services MMC?
Have you see system error 1068 on event log?

The print spooler service spoolsv.exe was successfully installed, however I do not see it in the MMC.
Also, this is a windows 2003 server Domain Controller.
I will continue to reply to any answers I get.
I may have to call Microsoft support tomorrow....
Thanks for the help in advance.

check RPC service, must be started (spooler depends on it)
sured that reboot after sfc
Look at the CBS log (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.l og), search the keyword "corrupted" if the procedure fixed it
