999 Not implemented yet.
This error means the functionality being exercised is not currently
implemented.

SQL Server Error 999 is an General Error and (AFAIK) is always followed by a description like:

SQL Server Error 999 "A SQL Server request resulted in a bad return code or status but no error message was returned."

Most of the time there is one or more errors prequel to the SQL999.

thanks. sql admin suspects this 999 error in sql log related to loss of connectivity. host app requires no delays with client. performs service availability polls in short intervals. node in question shows 40-60% link utilization on fastethernet port.
