Print spooler stops

One by one Windows 7 and Windows XP Pro users are having issues connecting to a network printer on a Windows 2003 server. Some are having the printer disappear altogether while others have their machines ‘Print Spooler’ stops and fail to restart or continue to stop after starting. I thought this was a computer issue but after the 3rd person on different platforms and 2 different network printers, I think it may be the server. Anyone having or had the same issue?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I've seen issues with other software interferring. Do all the system have any Adobe PDF printers or Quickbooks PDF converters installed. Removing these and testing may help to resolve your issue.

Also, are there any indications in the event viewer of these machines that lend any help?
