Thanks, DaleHarris.  If you see the second screenshot in the link you provided, you will see it requires a click on the Authentication Providers button.  On my system, the button is greyed out.  What should I do?  Thanks.
More information on Authentication methods in Sharepoint 2010 that should lead you in the right direction since I don't know offhand exactly the issue:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262350.aspx

Bottom line, there are multiple authentication methods available, and you have to configure both the IIS Manager and the Sharepoint site to allow for these.

Found this great link as well that should help you in a less Microsoft way, and more blogger type way:

That's odd.  Glad you got it figured out though!

Pisces,

I can't help but notice that you had one issue, I led you in the right direction, and then you had a greyed out box, and the solution to that was running IE as an Administrator, but are saying that I was no help whatsoever?  Your original question was enabling anonymous access, which I did provide resources for.  Can you clarify your steps that you took and which ones I helped or didn't help with?  I feel closing out this question without assigning points is a little misleading as to what actually went on.

Thanks.
This is the technical solution I used to solve my problem.  Thanks.
