Can dynamic php/MySQL site be imported into Joomla?

My client has a dynamic PHP site that works perfectly but needs a better look. I'd like to bring it into Joomla without losing the MySQL database-driven links and dynamic functionality. Can this be done?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I suppose it would be possible but merging the methods and databases from two different processes could be really difficult.

Thanks for the reply.

Since posting the question, I've discovered Joomla's "wrapper" menu item, which I've never used before. It appears that this will allow me to do what I need to do, but I need to explore it further before I can be sure.

I may well be wrong about this. If so, I'll post a new question.

Thanks again.
