I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Because you're going through firewalls, the easiest method is using a program to remote into it set up on the client computer, not RDP.

I would recommend LogMeIn Free.  Or you can use VNC.

Easy, on your router, forward port 3389 to your computer's private ip address.
Then you need to set up a dynamic dns account to map a domain name to your dynamic ip address.
You can use no-ip ( or dyndns (
Once it is set up you need to install their update client on your computer so it always update your account with your latest ip address when it changes.

You can now RDP to yourhost name from anywhere on the internet.
