Trying to increase my system volume on my server

First, let me say, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I have a Server 2003 that is running low on system drive space, under 1GB now.  It is in a RAID 5 volume setup as primary partitions.  In my searcing the web, i saw this :

http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-10878-0.html;jsessionid=BFAC496B6C58D4456AD30639C5595527?forumID=85&threadID=175698&messageID=2431042&tag=content;leftCol

I was wondering if this could be used to increase the volume size to a specific size?

I don't want it to take up all the availble space.

It is currently a 10GB system drive (I know, I didn't set this up, it was setup probably 5 years ago now), but still I would have set it up with like 20GB or so.

I have used PartedMagic or it is named something like that, a LInux based partition manager.  I used it on another Server 2003 box, but was a bit leary about it and it eventually worked, but I would like to stick with Windows supported tools, if possible.

I would like to double the system drive space to 20GB for now

Is there a way to use this extend command with some sort of parameter or switch to allow me to specify the size to increase it?

Thanks for your time.

The problem with the built in tool, it that you need empty disk space "behind" the partition to extend it.   If you have other partitions on the drive, you will not have the room to do this.   You will still need to use a partition tool (like gparted or Parition Magic) to adjust the size of the other partitions to gain the room needed.
I figured MS hadn't gotten the resizing completely fixed yet.  Or at least on the fly with no data loss.

As for these third-party apps, I would like one that doesn't require any installing or anything left on the server, even if it is in the background.

Which app will do this for me?
I guess I am looking for one that won't break the bank and that can be used on multiple servers.

ACRONIS does not require an installation on the server itself, just install it on your machine, create a bootable CD which is easy with a single option, restart the server and put the CD to get it partitioned.

Well, fortunately, we just purchased Boot-It NG last month to help with ghosting Lenovo laptops.  So, I am going with it.  I am sure all the other suggested apps work great, but they are pretty expensive, more than our budget can justify.  However, how important is the data and time to rebuild if there is a failure during the resizing.

Thanks to all for the recommendations.

May you have a great New Year.
