"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you on an iPad or iPod, you seem to have conflicting information.

In response, make sure that you have enough free memory to run the application as this is the leading cause of a crash.  To free up memory, you can restart your iDevice and then delete all applications that are in your multi-tasking by double-tapping the home button.

The Facebook application seems to be quite buggy as of late, so it may be a client-side issue.

You can try all the things above, but I wanted to throw in deleting your FB app and re-downloading it.

Additionally, what point in the application are you crashing?  Is it when the app loads, or when doing specific actions.

Sorry it's the iPad.  Brand new today so hopefully there should be no memory issues yet
SpeedyApocalypseCommented:
Well, if it is iPad, what is the name of the application you are using.  There is no official iPad application for Facebook.  Are you viewing using the Safari website browser?
ThursoMelAuthor Commented:
Let's me log in then stays in for about thirty seconds . Can scroll thru news feed but as soon as I try to refresh it logs me out
SpeedyApocalypseCommented:
Is this through Safari?
ThursoMelAuthor Commented:
Downloaded. From app store . It said it was compatable for iPad.
ThursoMelAuthor Commented:
Just gone into it via safari and not crashing out so guess the app is the issue?
SpeedyApocalypseCommented:
Hmmm.  Try restart your iPad and then delete and re-download your application.  Make sure the only other application that you open is the App Store.  This will eliminate any memory issues.  If it indeed crashes, then it is most likely a client side issue with the application.  Check what else you can do and see if just reloading the application causes the crash.

Thanks for all your help .  Will try your suggestions.  Merry christmas

ThursoMel,

I can't help but point out that I recommended deleting and re-downloading the application.  You also are supposed to "Accept the answer" that actually got you the solution, so when people search, they can find it easily.

Accepting "You too!  Good luck." might not be a great solution to pick.
