Wireless Printer that is both Mac and Windows Compatible

Hey Guys!

I'm looking for a wireless color printer that is compatible with both Mac 10.6.4 and Mac Lion:  Windows XP and Windows 7.  The last wireless printer was only compatible with only a limited amount of updates.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you talking Laser or Inkjet?

Note that Mac Lion isn't out yet so you are probably not going to get immediate support for it.

I have installed an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - E709n that is working well with a Macbook with 10.6 and PCs with XP and Windows 7.  It's a little more expensive but scanning also works over the network to both Mac and PC.

Just like dbrunton said that Mac Lion isn't out yet (it will be released summer next year) so it's kind of hard to tell whether the printer that people recommend here will be compatible with that OS.

Other than that you can always do research on HP website or other places you want, just make sure you read other people's review too, so you know what to expect from the printer.

You didn't state what other features you want in the printer.  I use the HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-one (fax, scan, copy, print) and I love it (C309).  The new model # is C410, and it's on sale on the HP website for $199, which is $100 off.

If all you're looking for is color printing without the all-in-one features, I recommend HP's 6000 Wireless Printer for $119:

Although I can't guarantee anything, I'm pretty certain that most manufacturers will support Lion as quickly as they can for any relatively new printers.
