Is there a LIVE CD or USB that scans/removes viruses using CD/DVD drive and updates itself each time before scanning?

I am a computer technician and I need a good tool for removing viruses from Windows PC's without having to remove the hard drive and slaving it to an antivirus program. Are there any LIVE CD'S that can be inserted into a customer's CD/DVD drive and which connects to the internet and updates its database and runs complete virus/spyware scan?

The most important thing is that it will update its own database to its most current via internet connection.

I find the instructions for ultimatebootcd too difficult but I really didn't know that so I'll try it again.

I tried Kaspersky Live cd but every time I click update it says "error" could not update.  Any clue as to why?

"Slaving" a hard drive off another computer for scanning will only look for files - not corrupted processes.

That hasn't been an effective means of finding malware in years.
Agreed . Cleaning a system internally is the best route to take. If you are having trouble in doing so then shaving etc... can remove the file that is hampering cleanup tools from running when OS is live
Hmm- shaving .... slaving!
