Firefox 4.30 Beta 8
I love it but it runs really slow on my machines. Is there anything I can do to speed things up other than wait for a later version?

I think firefox 3 checks all plugins for updates when you start it.
Starting with Firefox 3, you can view your installed plugins via "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" and disable them individually, disabling may make difference.
Try following..

&
Increase your 'page file size' (virtual Memory)..it may make some difference.

faizbaig On the first part of your answer...disable ALL of them?
Yes, it should make some difference ( seconds difference only).
Are you a Firefox Developer? Are u working with the Developers if not? Have u looked at Bugzilla to see if this is a known issue? You already know you are running a Beta so I don't have to remind you that it is built and used to find bugs to make it better for the final release.
When installing the Beta, did you use an existing Profile, or create a new one. If you didn't create a new one, that's where I would start.
