statistic tracking for multiple domains

I have clients that own multiple domains that are used on one website. I have heard that one should use a 301 redirect to transfer the traffic from the secondary domains to the one main website.
How can I accomplish this and maintain records of how many people use these secondary domains? I would prefer to use Google Analytics to do this.
Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

301 can be done using webserver. for apache you need to configure htaccess or httpd.conf file. you can google to get the resource on how to do that.

getting number of pages accessed using other domains is easy. just set google analytics on the home page or the main domain. it will automatically keep track of referring sites. go to analytics page and check view report of the domain.

there you will get traffic source overview which will give you the list of domain referred to your site including the count.
