type xxx is not defined for a control but is clearly there....

I have a project where the control is not being incorporated into the project without the debugger barking out "Error      1      Type "Imports.GUI.Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl.LookupControlHeader' is not defined.      C:\xxx\MainWindow.xaml      185      39      Imports.GUI
"
In the window I have:

    xmlns:UserControl="clr-namespace:Imports.GUI.Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl"

<UserControl:LookupControlHeader x:Name="LookupHeader" Width="auto" Height="auto"></UserControl:LookupControlHeader>

in the control I have:

<UserControl x:Class="Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl.LookupControlHeader"

Namespace Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl

    Public Class LookupControlHeader

The name of the project is Imports.GUI in the solution...

Please help me here because I think I am going to look for 6 feet of rope and a sturdy branch soon....

Many other folks are having this problem online and there isn't a solution from everything that I have tried.

Please help experts!!

Thanks,

B

Imports.GUI.Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl.LookupControlHeader' is not defined.  Is the clue to the issue.

You have Imports.GUI entered into the namespace of the control.  If the control is already a part of the Imports.GUI project then you can drop your namespace to just Controls.LookupControl

' Change
<UserControl x:Class="Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl.LookupControlHeader"

Namespace Imports.GUI.Controls.LookupControl

    Public Class LookupControlHeader

' To
<UserControl x:Class="Controls.LookupControl.LookupControlHeader"

Namespace Controls.LookupControl

    Public Class LookupControlHeader
