Formatting Link CSS Problem

I have a class of links that are normally black and when you hover over them turn red. The problem im facing now is that once you click that link, when you hover over it again it stops turning red. How can I Fix this problem????

Here is my current css code

a.blacklink:link {color:#000;}
a.blacklink:hover {color:#F00; text-decoration:underline;}
a.blacklink:active {color:#000;}
a.blacklink:visited {color:#000;}
a.blacklink:img {border: none;}

You were right works perfectly. I never even heard of the !important declaration. Thanks for the knowledge and help!
