Dublicate Desctop Shortcuts

Hey everyone,

I'm having a weird problem ever since I tried to clean up my Public folder.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Whenever I create--or an installation creates--a shortcut on the desktop, it creates two of the same (see screenshot below). And if I delete one, the other is deleted also.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
