Windows XP Pro "Server Service" will not start

I am running Windows XP Pro and can no longer access my mapped drives.  I noticed the Server service is not started. When I try to start the service I get the following error.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

sort all the service ... check all the services which should start automatically ... plus in the service properties there is section for dependancy thats mean this service depen on another service u should start that service(s) first then start this one

If you have a 3rd party firewall, try and disable that temporarily and then try and restart the service. If that resolves it, add the Server service to the firewall's trusted or excluded list.

Or
you do not have the proper credentials to access Server or map drive (check with Administrator).
Administrator can block access.
