If you want make your Vista machine to RDP to it needs to be professional version and you can't do it with home.
I would google something like "Remote Desktop Vista Home"... There are some resources out there even downloads that would enable you to use Remote Desktop for Home Edition.

Vista is like Windows ME. It was a waste of time developing and never a good OS. Windows 7 Home I noticed, does include the remote desktop app now.

If you have Vista Business or Vista Ultimate, then you can enable Remote Desktop. If you press Start, and, in the Start Search box, enter "Remote Desktop", there should be an option to set it up.
