Do I have to install SP1 on SBS 2003 before migrating to SBS 2008.

After the original installation 5 years ago, I installed SP1. Then 1 year later installed SP2. A problem with Exchange server then threw up a message that insisted that I uninstall SP1. which I did. The system has worked with very few problems since then. I now am migrating the system to a new SBS 2008 64 bit computer and software. I have run the best practices scan and have receive a report that now requires me to install SP1 before migration.??? Do I have to do this before I migrate and is it possible to install SP1 on top of SP2?

Yes, you will need SBS SP1 before you can migrate to SBS 2008.

Also worth noting if you have not bought SBS 2008 yet, SBS 2011 has been released to Manufacturing, so if you wait a month (approx), you can migrate to that instead, which means you won't be upgrading to a 4 year-old version of Exchange.

Thanks for this. But can I install SP1 over SP2 or do I have to uninstall SP2 and then install both.

Thanks, I installed SP1 again and it got rid of a lot of issues.
