Cannot install MSSE

Trying, in vain, to install MSSE on XP Home.  Getting a 80070643 error.  Checked out Google.
One tip said to check the log... the log is in

All User \ App Data \ MS \ MSSE

No log is there.

Please advise...

You need the latest service pack to make Microsoft essentials compatible with
XP

Not only do you need to have the latest service pack installed (service pk 3), you also have to verify that the operating system installed is genunine and it has to be activated. If you have any other antivirus/antimalware software installed you need to remove it first. Once these critiria have been met then you should be able to install MSSE
It is genunine and no other anti-virus is isntalled... Security Center shows that I need to install Anti-Virus software.
Tried that page as well..
MSE requires .net framework

I would suggest you add/remove all .net framework and download/install .net framework 4.0

good luck
