KB2440591 Server 2003
Hello All,
After installing KB2440591 from Windows Update on one of my production Win2k3 servers .. all websites inside IIS refused to start. FTP sites stared ok. I had to remove KB2440591 in order to get the websites running again.
This machine is NOT using Routing and Remote Access so I am at a loss as to why an update targeted at routing and remote access would do behave like this...
Has anyone had a similar experiance?
Thanks...
Dale

can you look vhat version is ndproxy.sys? Then copy manually the good version of file on one server for testing. Look on the event log for errors.

Question answered by not installing the above mentioned update... not the best solution but one that works...
The KB update only the file Ndproxy.sys. Are you using sp2 for Windows?
Here you have some info about the exploit http://blog.fortinet.com/kernel-buffer-overflow-in-ndproxy-sys-ms10-099/
