Collapsable side navigation in WordPress

I need assistance in trying to get my menu system to collapse and expand only the user is in that particular section. The menu will show the top level items at first (.e.g By State will show but not the states underneath) and then when it's clicked will bring up the states below (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales). Again in turn, the links below this will only show when in that section (i.e. when in New South Wales, will bring up the list below # Pretty Beach House
# The Byron at Byron Resort & Spa when in that section only).

Attached is a screenshot of the menu at present. The top level's are marked with a > and the sub levels with a -.

I've attached the sidebar.php and the .css file and screenshots.

Prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You should look at jQuery's accordion feature.  This will give you the dynamic on click functionality you are looking for.

Can you tell me how I could implement this within the example sidebar.php file.

You can get load a plugin that'll do that.

search for a "widget collapse menu" or collapse menu" from within your dashboad> plugins>addnew

hi all4artz,

Can you recommend a particular plugin from this list? I'm using pages as opposed to posts so will this effect the plugins use? Also, will I need to change my sidebar.php which has the existing code in it.
