PhysX SDK problem

I am trying to run an example gamebryo program but keep getting this error below.

Environment variable PHYSXINSTALLPATH is not defined. This project relies on the PhysX SDK from NVIDIA. If the PhysX SDK is already installed, please create an environment variable named PHYSXINSTALLPATH that points to the root of the installation (such as C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA PhysX SDK\v2.8.1). If the PhysX SDK is not installed, it can be found on the Gamebryo installation disk.

I have installed from the gamebyro disk and I have found the folder where the SDK is.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX SDK 2.8.1

It then tells me in the error

please create an environment variable named PHYSXINSTALLPATH that points to the root of the installation (such as C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA PhysX SDK\v2.8.1

how do I do this. Thankyou for your help.

It may vary according to which version of windows you are running.  In XP it works like this -

Right click on the 'My Computer' icon
Choose 'Properties' from the context menu
In the System Properties dialog, show the 'Advanced' tab.
Click on the 'Environment Variables' button (near the bottom of the dialog)
This brings up a dialog box with two lists.  User Variables apply only to the current login, System Variables apply to all accounts, you probably want to create a new System Variable.
There are New, Edit and Delete buttons beneath each list, it's pretty self explanatory.

This works in 95, 98, 2000, NT and XP.  The details may be different in later versions of Windows.
