mssql developer on XP

I am in the UK and thinking about the purchase of
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition - Complete package - 1 user - DVD - Win - English - 32/64-bit
as advertised on http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-SQL-Server-2008-Developer/dp/B003KWQBQ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293637576&sr=8-1
I notice this
System Requirements
Platform:   Windows 2000 Server
I am using windows xp and wonder if this package will run on XP.

Thanks
John

Yes, you should be fine on XP.  Just remember the 64bit SQL needs 64bit Windows XP.  This link is VERY helpful for that information...

Thanks, can you say how I can determine whether I have the 64bit version of XP?
I notice System Directory in System Information states C:\WINDOWS\System32 so I guess thats what I have.
The package at Amazon.co.uk states DVD - Win - English - 32/64-bit
So I think that should be suitable.

I wonder why they state
System Requirements
Platform:   Windows 2000 Server ?
Thanks
John
