"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It sounds as if either you or a friend who has you in their address book has contracted a virus or your  Yahoo account has been compromised (someone has your password). The latter happened to me recently with an old Yahoo account I didn't use. I'd recommend the following:

1. Do a complete scan on your computer. If you do not have anti-virus software you can use an online scanning tool such as http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ . Be sure you clean any malware it finds.
2. Change your Yahoo password, just in case it was compromised. Once i did this, the messages stopped.
3. Notify your friends and ask them to also scan their system

Good luck!

I suspect a hacked Yahoo account, and I assume you use their webmail?
