ClamAV in Solaris 9 startup error

I've just installed ClamAV from a package on Solaris 9, however when I go to run the program with /etc/init.d/clamav start I get this error.

/tmp/clamd.socket is in use by another process

I'm not sure what to do here, but I've logged out and logged back in with no success.  I haven't adjusted the conf files yet other than to add local to the system config files.

I'm not much use with Solaris specifically but it seems like a typical lock condition - have you checked your entire process list for (and killed) clamd processes?  Check if the socket goes away when nothing is running - if not, remove the socket manually and restart the daemon.  Also found something which may be useful -

FixStaleSocket yes
in your clamd.conf

Do you know the command line to kill the clamd process list?  I'm a bit new still to Solaris.
