Replace method

I believe the VB6 Replace function allowed one to replace a series of characters within a string.  The VB.NET string.Replace method only operates on one character.   How can I easily replace a series of characters?   Specifically, I need to replace vbCrLf with spaces.

Thanks.   I thought the help said only one character - one Unicode character, which is two bytes
