Support the project DB Migrate to SQL Server 2008 Conventions R2

Hi experts, I work there are some databases on sql server 2000 and another in sql server 2005. But now everything is going to migrate to SQL Server 2008 R2, you can help me with some advice or guidance to be successful migration

Is it an inplace upgrade or side by side upgrade?

i do not understand your question
1. Inplace upgrade basically means you upgrade the SQL Server 2000 to SQL 2008 in the same server by over writing the existing installation.

2. Side by side means you will be installig SQL 2008 in a new server and restoring the 2000 backups in the new server.
