Low HDD space alerts (Software recommendation?)

Hello all,

I need a reliable way to be alerted when hard drive space on a Windows 2003 server's hard drive reaches a specified amount of remaining space.

Ideally I'd like to receive both email and SMS alerts.

In the past I have used the performance monitor with an emailer script, and Hyperic HQ, but was not entirely thrilled with either solution.

I appreciate your help / suggestions.

This is a pretty good little free utility that I have used before:

Thank you for the suggestions...

@erniebeek:  I just watched the "about PRTG" video, and this looks great.

My main concern is that it looks as though I need a dedicated system to run PRTG... this isn't immediately available to me.  Secondary concern is the cost.

@brian_vt_hokie:  I just installed this tool on my workstation to test it out.  I don't see any way to send an alert at the specified thresholds... are you able to send out emails / SMS with this software?
About the costs, its free for (i think) 20 sensors. If you put their logo on 'a' website you can get additional sensors.
You don't really need a dedicated system, I know I haven't. Install it on the server, it will automatically monitor things like diskspace.
I think It's worth giving it a try.
Ok, so the "free trial" is fully functional, but is limited to 20 sensors?

I'll give it a shot... I have a VM on the same network as our servers where I could install it for testing.
Oh... I just answered my question above... on the download page it clarifies their 10-20 sensor freeware option.  I'm installing on the VM now and will report back soon.
The free version does not include email alerts.  But it's pretty robust for a free utility.

They offer a separate alerting piece as well.  Have never tried the trial version to see what it can/can't do, but here is the link:

They also have a more robust monitoring/alerting tool, but I think it's in the $500 range:

If you don't mind paying $50-$150, WinQuota and CheckQuota are relatively cheap and have alerting capabilities:

Agree, spiceworks rules! But perhaps a bit too much if you just want to monitor disk space? Don't get me wrong, I'm using both ;)
I have used IPSentry for a decade. The lite version for 1-5 devices is $29.95. Very easy to use, and it can monitor all sorts of stuff that you may be interested in in the future.

I use spiceworks it will do what you after
Thanks guys, I'm not entirely sure which solution I'll use, so I'm going to split the points.  PTRG is awesome so far, but I'm already wishing I had more sensors, so I may go with spiceworks.
