Removing old Exchange server

I recently performed an upgrade for a client by installing a new Exchange 2010 server. Everything seems to be working with that now and I am ready to get rid of their Exchange 2003 environment. However, that server is not going away. It is going to remain as a backup AD server as well as a SQL server (roles it was performing before). How do I just "turn down" Exchange on this server?

This article from Microsoft gives you the rundown on how to do it. You need to uninstall Exchange 2003. I hate to say it but there's always some kind of crap that comes up during the uninstall and it will tell you what the problem is when you start to run the  uninstaller. If you run into that just post another question or Google for the answer:
