DID incoming disconnect on Asterisk

My incoming direct line is always disconnected on my Asterisk VoIP server. Does anyone have any idea about the problem ?  Where should I start to diagnosis the problem ?

A recieved a call from the telco and he mentioned that I need to send out a line work (word ??) signal to the telco, otherwises they will focus the line to terminate.. They wouldn't describe this in detail, so not sure whether it is line work or line word signal..

Any idea how to configure this in the Asterisk...


How to dump the configuration of the trunk ?

What kind of trunk is it?  What kind of card are you using?

How did you install Asterisk (manually or with a GUI)?

What driver set are you using (DAHDI or Zaptel)?

My thought regarding the "line word" is that you need to send the correct caller-ID.

Is this new service and a new system?

The system is installed by a phone vendor and we have moved the phone system from traditional PBX to Asterisk system. I have no idea how they install but it seems that they don't have any idea about the problem...

Last time, we connect the DID line to FXO but it doesn't work. After confirming with the Telco, the DID line need to be connected to a FXS interface.

The driver set is DAHDI. What the difference between DAHDI and Zaptel.

How can I give the information that you need ?

DID's don't work with FXO interfaces unless this is an inband, analog DID line.

POTS lines work with FXO's normally.

Usually DID's require an ISDN PRI or BRI interface.


Can you send the Asterisk CLI output of 'dahdi show channels or zaptel show channels' please?
