Multiple "Powerline" type devices in the same house?

My parents have a generic brand device that does basically the same thing a Cisco/Linksys "PowerLine" type device does (IP over the electrical lines), except for a phone line (it was given to them for their satellite dish setup).  I would ALSO like to buy a Cisco PowerLine setup for them, for their 802.11/ethernet network.

Question is -- can the PowerLine and this other generic device live in the same house, or is there going to be a conflict with everything going over the same electrical wires?
