asked on

ipad multiple itunes libraries

Hi,

On my iMac I can maintain completely separate itunes libraries by pressing the alt key when I launch iTunes. I know playlists give a lot of control, but I like to keep one library for my language learning files and one for regular iTunes stuff. Is there a way to achieve anything similar on an ipad?

I don't really want to jailbreak. It's a newish ipad. But if I ever do then i'll try your solution, jediborre. Thanks for that.

iDisk might have been a good way if I had MobileMe. The language library is over 7Gigs and the Music+ library is about 13Gigs. I'll look at dropbox this weekend and see what's possible. Thanks, roylong.

I can see why it would need to be a jailbreak app. I guess otherwise you could go around multiple syncing with different peoples imacs and taking their libraries for free. I can import the language files into my regular iTunes and work with playlists on an ipad if it's the best practical solution.

... roll on the day when the ipad gets opened up fully by Apple and they let us use it as a normal computer with a full desktop. ... maybe i'll go and start a rumor somewhere :).

>its easy to revert jailbrake to original state just restore from factory settings and that´s it

That's a good tip.
Dropbox starts charging after 2G so it won't work for my needs.
Thank you
