Quick Styles "dropdown" in Word 2010 replaced by a listbox

I am working with Word 2010 and there was, when I was on the "Home" tab, a dropdown menu of styles called "Quick Styles".  This has suddenly disappeared and been replaced by a listbox of styles.  Using the listbox is quite cumbersome because you have to scroll down and hunt for a style.  I am changing styles frequently, so I want to the the Quick Styles menu back.  Do you know how to do that?  I can't find any option and the help system for Word 2010 doesn't appear to find anything relevant when I enter "QuickStyles" or "Quick Styles".  Thank you!

I see a Change Styles item in the Styles group of the Ribbon, with some Style Set selections.  Perhaps one of them will do what you want. User generated image

No, that's not the one.  What I had was in place of the listbox that has "Normal", No Spaci...", and "Heading 1" in it in your screenshot, I had a dropdown list of styles.  The dropdown is much faster to navigate that in the listbox.
Here, maybe this is what you need:

Also, you can anchor this list to the right of the document, if you wish!
I figured out what is going on -- at least partially:  If you size the width of the window such that it is narrow "enough," the Quick Styles dropdown appears automatically in place of the styles listbox.  Anyone know if there's a way to force Word to always use Quick Styles?

How do I do that?  Thank you.
Open the Styles window and simply double click at the top of the window (where you see "Styles").

If you save a document with the styles docked at the right, then close Word, I think Word "remembers" the configuration.

Otherwise, just click on the small arrrow & it will dock automatically.

Nice!

I will leave this question open for a bit to see if anyone knows how to force the Quick Styles dropdown to appear (in place of the styles listbox).
