Retieving Mailboxes from a Mailbox Database Exchange 2010

Hello,
I have the following scenario. I did a mailbox move from 2007 to 2010. Thus once done, it cleans the 2007 mailbox from items. No after the whole move i changed the path of the Mailbox database to other HDD because of disk space, but result is my mailboxes could not access the database anymore. Dont know why. So i redid the whole prepare-move etc... to do the move over, but then realised that the 2007 environment mailboxes is now gone.

So what i currently have is a 2010 environment with mail-enabled user without a mailbox. I do have the mailbox Database in 2010. My question is, is there any way I can retrieve the mailboxes out of that database or am i looking at a 2007 Server restore and start over with the Mailbox moves?

Thank you

What happens when you try to mount the database on the 2010 server?

How did you move the database?

The database is mounted. I used the cmdlet to move a database path. Because i redid the move request, to recreate the AD accounts also on new invironment, i have mailbox "contacts". Is this any help?
Oh.  So at the moment you have no users just contacts?

I am not sure I understand what stage you are at?

Did you move mailboxes between exchange organisations or 2 servers in the same org?
how come, changing the DB path doesn't remove the mailbox, can you access the mailboxes using OWA.
I agree busbar.  Seems a bit odd :-/

Ok ill take you through the steps:
I have a Exch.domain1.org with exchange 2007.
I have a Exch.domain2.org with exchange 2010.
I started off by creating the Trust betweet the 2 domains, because its cross forest.
I Intalled ADMT 3.1 to migrate all my user accross to the 2010 server's AD.
Then found this script on the internet invoke-moverequest.ps1. Used to to migrate all the mailboxes accross. The first time this worked but I messed up here and did a mailbox move here by using EMC because noticed I am running out of disk space.
The migration finished but all my users could not access their mailboxes. I then wanted to start over and deleted all the mailboxes user in 2010 and the AD accounts. Redid the migration and when i wanted to run the invoke-moverequest.ps1 again. I received error stating that i could not find the mailboxes in 2007 to migrate. because the migration cleaned it after the first time. So this time, in 2010 I ended up with haveing mailbox contacts and not users in EMS but in AD I have users.

Now, I am hoping I didnt mess up to much and that there is a way to recover the mailboxes out of the 2010 Mailbox database.

Does this make more sense now.
