How do I import an excel spreadsheet that contains html formatted fields into a SharePoint list and have the list render the html tags?
I have a csv of 500 or so records that I need to import to SharePoint 2007.
Several of the fields are formatted with HTML tags.
I created a list by importing a spreadsheet and noticed that the HTML tags are not rendering, instead I see the HTML tags, <p>, <font>, etc displayed along with the data in plain text.
I changed the multiple lines of text properties in the SP columns after the import to Enhanced rich text but still see the tags.
I am thinking about trying again by importing the csv to MS Access and then publishing it SP.
Will that work better?
Any advice?
Thanks!

I wanted to share some potential good news.
I was semi-successfull with Access.
I imported my CSV into an Access table and went into design view and created a new memo rich text field. I then switched to table view and select / copied the entire column of the field that had the html tag data in plain text format and pasted it into the new empty rich text field column.
(Access hinted that I probably could have written an update query to convert the data but i didn't know how).
When I published it to SharePoint it workded great and rendered in the list view. At least, I think it did. I did not look at every record yet. I ran into one snag.
FYI, My first attempt to publish the table to a new list failed.
According to Access, "SharePoint only supports 8192 charecters in their memo fields."
That does seem to be a bit limitted. I wonder how true that is.
There must be an easier way for Access to Publish this to a SharePoint site...
(I was using Access 2007)
Maybe I can create the column first in SharePoint with Enhanced rich text, and then switch from standard view to datasheet view in the browser and just paste....
