QuickBooks for Mac report

I am the financial secretary for a not-for-profit where I have been recording donations under Customers>Enter Sales Receipts and adding a class corresponding to the budget category to which it will be assigned. I would like to the correct report form to distribute yearend contribution statements by customer. In the past I have exported all contributions to Excel and grouped by customer, cut and pasted each to a new worksheet and saved. Can I avoid those steps and report by customer for the fiscal year as either a pdf and/or xls file?

QuickBooks does not attempt to provide donation / contrinbution records or receipts.

You can get reports by customer and in the Modify Report tab, filter for the class you want. You can adjust columns and print it.

You can go to:

http://marketplace.intuit.com/search.aspx?search=donation%20receipts

This is the Intuit Marketplace and there is software there for donation tracking by patron. This is probably a better approach to your tracking and reporting needs.

Thanks for the advice for next year's budget proposal. Can you suggest a workaround for the current situation?

Thanks
The only workaround that I know of for QuickBooks native is to adjust the reports which I briefly outlined above.

In the Reports tab, there are reports by customers (and vendors and so on). Look at the various customer reports, pick one you like and then use the Modify report tab to filter by name and class (you said you were using classes). ... Thinkpads_User
I see several views of reports by customer, but none captures all the data from the sales receipt, namely, check number. Most views also lose memo.

Can QB data be exported as csv or some usable format and dumped into a database as an alternative?

Thanks. The categories change names from Receipt to Report, but showing all helped me recognize them. Sales by Customer Detail gets me as close as I could hope for. Is there any way to format the report in native QB with a page break after each customer? I previously resorted to export to Excel and setting page breaks there.

After the typical Round 1 forum reply that reoutinely suggests ways to avoid asking the question posed, the workaround was a thorough answer followed up by the second workaround for the limitations of the QB Print menu.
Thank you.  I know the workaround won't fill your needs but I hope the information supplied will assist in the future for you. ... Thinkpads_User
