There is a very long discussion about this currently.  At this time, there is no real solution to this problem.  I would invite you to read the thread here:
http://frsconnect.frontrange.com/group_discussion.aspx?DiscussionID=6fe78f17e2d04f12a1a4f4cb7d3034e2
Or, check below for a copy/paste of the transcript.  I am seeing the same issue on GM 7.x.  The official solution at this point in time is to setup an auto-hotkey to answer no on start... Not much of a solution, but I am not seeing any issues after choosing no.

Here is the forum copy/paste:
GoldMine 6.7 Pop-Up today....

Please note that your computer's system date is erroneously set to 1/1/2011.

GoldMine's Synchronization may not function properly unless the system date is set correct. Would you like to correct the system's date now?

Do you think that it is time to upgrade yet?

Just answer No every time and you should be okay as long as you don't Synchronize.

gremlinbt

Same , and we do synchronize..............
Does anyone know if we can disable this . . .?

I am with the same problem in spanish version Goldmine 5.5
Additionally when I installed goldmine in my new pc i forgot to apply the path for the dll when having very big hard disk and obtain several times the error reindexing : Space in disk insufficient.
When I noticed this I reindexed correctly
I have revising the goldmine logs to try to know what happens.
I observed if I put back the date to 2010 when i enter goldmine no error windows.

But I change the system time to 01.02.2012 in one of the times and now received alerts or alarms all with the same emission date : 01.02.2012

I don't want update my goldmine.

What can i do ?

What is the meaning of this error ?

Anyone knows something ?

In a perfect world all our clients would use the latest software and it would all work perfectly.

Unfortunately we are not living in that world quite yet, and we probably have a half dozen clients on 6 that are still synchronizing.

DJ, are you familiar with the specifics of the issue concerning Sync and dates beyond 2010?

Obviously the programmers were well aware to have provided that date check, but I cannot find it documented or previously discussed anywhere in the community.
Posted 1/1/2011 1:58 PM |

apache

I am in the real world.
It is not necessary to change my version because Goldmine is an honest software maker.
I am waiting an answer.
If I receive an answer i can consider Goldmine for a second license or for working in a net. Or sinchcronize with three pc.
Is a question of trusting
Excuse my english

Well after some extensive testing in a controlled test environment, the results so far are positive. I have focused only on key areas that i know would adversely affect our main 6.7 clients that sync, and not every aspect of GoldMine.

I have some more scenarios to test tomorrow, but aside from DJ's don't Synch comment (DJ, please let me know if you are aware of specific problems or if that was just a comment based on the nature of the message), everything tested so far is working.

Just looking at avoiding those early calls on Monday or Tuesday when business resumes. If anyone else discovers anything please let us know.

A very Happy B1 to all you GoldMine'rs

apache

In the rebuilding indexes option (mainteining databases) don't affect :
Verify the data and synchronization information

The bug continues in the second day.

Soeof my clients hav gotten the same error today so I have checke it on my virtumachine ith gm6.7 and I got the same error. I hve checked the database and especialy the recid of new records and logstamp andycstamp and all looks fine and correct. I have created a sync transfer of 1 record that wasupdated today and 1 record that was createto day and than unpacked the ansfer set and the tey were with the right data and rigtdates.
I coln't check what wil happened tomorrow by changing the mahine date to tomorrow so I will have to wait and see if it will pop again tomorrow.
Posted 1/2/2011 5:19 AM |

apache

Initially I changed the date to a date prior to 01/01/2011 and the bug dissapear.
Be careful (version 5.5 Goldmine) if you change the date to a date after because I do to the date 01/02/2012 (first february 2012) and then all the pending activities goes to the ondate={01/02/2012} and you can't see the activities in the activities window (F6, in the version 5.5)
So I have to change that data in the Cal.dbf and reindex.

@appache: What happens if you chnge the system date to January 3 2011? do you still ge the messag?
Posted 1/2/2011 7:12 AM |

apache

Yes
Posted 1/2/2011 9:00 AM |

apache

If you change the system date to 01/02/2012 continues the same.
It seems that with a date 01/01/2011 or posterior the bug continues.
In the other side if you put the system date back to 2010 the window dissapear.
It's just a bug handling the dates fromo goldmine 5.5 dbase version.
And other versions too as I see.
Lamentable

@apache: "If you change the system date to 01/02/2012 continues the same."

I think you missed the intent of Shaulbel's question. If you set the date to 1/3/2011 or perhaps even 1/15/2011 or even 2/1/2011, does the issue stop? More to the point, does it happen for all 2011 dates?

Paul ---

shaulbel

@Paul: That's exactly what I meant.
I think we should check for various dates on January. Anyway It looks like the sync and the recid are working despite the bothering message while logging in.

Paul this is the screenshots o my logs :

According to this I only try with first february 2011 and first february 2012

"Same , and we do synchronize..............

gremlinbt, What do you mean by synchronize ? In the aspect of mainteining goldmine or because you have several goldmine distributing ?. In the case of synchronizing by mainteining I don't receive any errors. Other synchronize I can't do. .

PaulRogers001

Ok...I just tested with numerous dates throughout 2011 and for succeeding years (2012, 2015, 2022) and all tested positive for this error message but as noted prior, while it's be annoying it appears benign.

a soft to do : 'replay mouse and keyboard event" will be enough to solve this problem then .
But I hope that the programmers solves this goldmine bug.
Because it was not announced and nobody knows nothing about this until this very day 01/01/2011.
Good sales requires good sales.

Thanks a lot

To do a script :

Autohotkey
AutoIt

ClickOff

And not freeware may be :
PTFB Pro, payware, but you can also try the last freeware version of PTFB

You can also do this kind of thing with PowerPro, and an awful lot more besides, though it's not for the faint-hearted.

MacroGoblin , etc.

AutoIt and Autohotkey have marvellous forums, as Goldmine forum may be, to orient this solution.

I am not a programmer, but Autohotkey may be as simple as :

"Look in the folder where AutoHotkey is installed, for "AutoIt3 Window Spy"

With it, you can get the name and class of the window and the name of the control.
With those pieces of information, and these commands, you should be able to wait for the window and click the control.

http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/WinWait.htm
http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/commands/ControlClick.htm "

Clickoff is indicated by a person like :

Not an AHK script but a ready-made freeware (why re-invent the wheel): have you tried ClickOff?

Good Luck

I wait all the help possible from this and from all other forums

Best Regards

apache

ClickOff I Think need the link

http://www.johanneshuebner.com/en/clickoff.shtml

IT seems very appropiate to those programs only thinking in being necessary with continuos warning windows.

Good Luck.
I will comment if I get something useful for me. Thing I doubt, but a good new : I got two links of industrial engineering in that link above.

Best Regards

You might also just try creating a GM macro then auto-launch it at startup: gmw6.exe /M:###

Just an ALT-N perhaps?

Paul ---
Posted 18 hours ago |

apache

Click Off goes well.
I don't know Paul if that macro is for G 5.5
Click Off close the window.
For make resident I use Startup Delayer.

I think is more clean your solution, but I have to remember how to create macros with GM.

I have a direct access with : Y:\GoldminePrg\gmw5.exe /i:esm /u:JOSE /p:

I'll try tomorrow and comment. Nevertheless clickoff is good for many other situations.

Note : ouwwwww. No need of Startup Delayer. By defect put the program as residente in the msconfig. Nevertheless I use this program to control my residentes

apache

ClickOff memory consumption : 2792 Kb.
A good reason to prefer the goldmine macro.
Posted 17 hours ago |

apache

Owwww. But remember to assure that any date produce no warning window. or the goldmine macro may have unexpected results. ......

I think with ClickOff if the window don't appear, click off make nothing.

Apache,

I am sorry if I didn't understand all your previous posts, As I understood you are running a single user version of GoldMine Version 5.5. I thought there might have also been a problem maintaining the database with this version of GoldMine since 2011.

If all your previous posts are also just concerning the pop up window that appears when you initially start GoldMine for the day, just click the 'No' button and no additional software or fix would be required.

If this is not the case, you may be better to post in Spanish and perhaps someone else can translate the problem.
Posted 12 hours ago |

apache

Only to dbaard :

Como yo vivo en Tenerife ya saben DJ Hunt, PaulRogers001, you and everyone where can enjoy the next festival, carnival and the best sunplace.

Best Regards and happy new year

I would love to upgrade but don't need 5 seats. any way to share the license with four other people?

automationstation

You don't have to purchase 5 licenses to upgrade... the minimum is $695 per year for End User Maintenance and Support. So you can upgrade one license and purchase the maintenance and get upgraded to GoldMine Premium Edition v9 with Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

dougsteinschneider

I've got some customers with extensive customizations who are perfectly happy with 6.7 and are paying CE maintenance to boot. I think FRS will try to morph this discussion into an upgrade discussion. The problem won't be the licensing cost, it will be the re-development of the customizations, QA and finally retraining hundreds of users.

FYI. I had an email conversation with tech support. Here is an informal, non-official,non-binding response. I offer this for clarification purposes only, not intended to start any trouble.

<<<<This seems to only be an issue with our Goldmine 6.7 and lower. We have not a fix for this issue but it has been sent to development to review. As this is a version that is no longer supported I find it unlikely that we will be release a patch.

The error message I know mentions that is may cause issues with syncing, but thorough testing shows that everything is working as designed, by clicking yes to the error message you will continue to have full range of the product.>>>>>
Posted 1 hour ago |

PaulRogers001

Sounds like a reasonable official response to an issue affecting a product out of support.

Paul ---
Posted 1 hour ago |

Theresa Croom

Many of the Goldmine users on our current system do not have admin authority to change the date on their desktop. If the response is 'no' will the product produce unexpected results? So far the users are not complaining about email or syncing issues. Dates on inbound and outbound Goldmine emails appear to be fine. The logs appear to be dated correctly as well. Any suggestions on additional items to check?

Everything seems to work fine with a No response.
