Admin Port Refused on Sun Java version 6.3

Hello,
I have not accessed the Admin port and interface before on this Sun Java version 6.3 email server. I went to the console and used a browswer to go to http://localhost:4848 and the message returned is:

"The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:4848. Is this the correct port for the admin interface, or is there a different port? The SUN docs show that 4848 should be the default. Is there something else I need to do in order to access the admin interface?

Thanks,
John

Thanks. I restarted the server and watched the script to start the java mail. It looks like the admin port is on http://192.168.1.30:8800. Hopefully, this is the right port. Unfortunately, I cannot log into this interface. My three test accounts don't appear to have access and even when I use the root logon and password it is refused. This is a test server and someone else set it up and mailed it to me. Is there a way to discover the admin password without having to tear it apart? Btw, I am a unix newbie.

Thanks,
John

Interesting. I tried the same logn and password repeatedly and eventually it let me in. Was it a typo? I don't think so. But, hopefully I remember what I typed.

This  interface does not look like it is the interface for email. It is the Interface for the Sun Java System Web Server. Should there be a different interface?
Is there a java mail server running as an application?  Check what applications are running.  Most likely there is some sort of Java Mail server running someplace.  I don't know of a built in mail server for the Sun Java Server
