MIME Type mapping in Google Chrome

How do I map/define a MIME type in Google Chrome?

In IE, I put an entry in the registry mapping the MIME type to a file extension.  Google doesn't honor those mapping (which isn't surprising) but I can't figure out how to creat a Chrome mapping

"Can't do it" doesn't help solve the problem but it tells me there is no solution.
But Chrome does auto open some file types.  I know from experience that it will open an exe or rar file upon completion of download because it has done it for/to me a few times already.

I accidentally double clicked on the file before it finished downloading and the action executes once the file download is complete.

Hope that adds a little more info to your issue even if it doesn't help solve it.
