Basic rich text editor

Hi,

I need a rich text editor with the following options:
- two options only: bold and italic text;
- work for textareas and input fields;
- not included in edit area (not inside textarea/input), but separately.

Thanks for any help.

Best option for me is CKEditor, you can use custom toolbars.

TinyMCE has a "paste from Word" plugin

    theme_advanced_buttons1 : 'pasteword,bold,italic,justifyleft .......
I think there may be some kind of mildly counter-intuitive interlock on the pasteword plugin.  Clients who use "edit/copy" then "click, ALT, E P" may get an error message.  This is not a serious problem, but IIRC the error message didn't say the one obvious thing it needed to say, which was, "Please use the Paste From Word button."  A little customer hand-holding was needed at first.

Maybe this UI has been improved.  It's been a couple of years since my last foray into TinyMCE.

I know what you mean - since before the pasteWord plugin came out, we have been using a series of regexes to clean the stuff of Word's "extras"
Yeah, I've read some of those strtr() examples in different web sites.
