Can Sonicwall TZ100 Antennas be upgraded?

I have a sonicwall TZ100 setup, the wireless coverage doesnt seem quite to be enough.  I have a Cisco 1242 as well with 5.8dBi Antenna's on it (Air-ANT1728 Antenna) which has much more coverage.

I dont need two AP's, however I would prefer to use the wireless directly off the Sonicwall.  Can a higher power antenna be put on the TZ-100 since the antennas are removable to begin with?

Any suggestions for boosting the power?

I don't completely understand antenna output ratings (if that's even what its called).

The impression I had is a 9dBi antenna would be more powerful, or have better range than a 5dBi antenna. In that, simply changing antennas changes your power, but I suppose that doesn't make sense as it is the same as buying more powerful speakers but not updating the amp.

So, can you clarify how a higher dBi antenna changes the signal that would help if possible.
