What type of account are you trying to setup?

Exchange / POP3?
iOS (iPhone and iPad) only work with Exchange 2007 or later. 5.5 is not supported. I haven't worked with Exchange 55 is years, but you should be able to use Exchange's POP/IMAP Connector, but it will be limited to emails.

ASKER

it looks like smtp
You need to use the connection wizard on Exchange to configure it to accept IMAP connections. (I misstated earlier when I said POP - old habit). Once you get that configured, you can use Exchange as a MAIL server to the iPad.
I made a mistake it looks like it is upgraded to exchange 6.5 which is 2003.

what now
same thing.
@Vavatch1 - iPads / iPhones will work with Exchange 2003 upwards, not Exchange 2007 upwards when using Activesync.
alanhardisty,

If you are positive of that, then I defer to you... We no longer use Exchange, so I can't really say with 100% accuracy.
@Vavatch1 - I can guarantee it - I have been supporting it for long enough to know (hence my article) : )
how do i get back to the default prior to do ing this
How do you get what back to default?

Can you confirm this is Exchange 2003 server please.

Using my article, there is an image showing how to see if Exchange 2003 SP2 is installed - you can follow that section to confim the Exchange Version.
exchange 2003
Good - so what are you trying to get back to default?
the way it was before i did all these steps
Are you talking about the iPad or the server?

If the server, why do you want to reset things?  Is something not working?
we think firewall issues
