Space Over Image in IE Only (table-based layout for email campaign)

Please visit the following page in both IE and firefox:

http://test888.moochomoocho.com/

As you can see, there is a space in IE only between the gutter images and the header.  I can't figure out what's causing it or how to get rid of it.  Please note I am using table-based formatting because this is going to be sent as an email campaign.

I( would suggest you work with classes or div #id's, you can control the layout better. And i think you can also loose the extra space in IE
You should add a reset style sheet to your head.  Also, as dmeeren said above, you definitely want your style to be separate from your structure. Use divs, spans, h tags, etc. to make your page, then style them with a CSS file.  

A CSS reset should take care of everything and give you a level playing field across all browsers.  Here is one of the best ones in the industry today:
