Blackberry Enterprise Server - Exchange 2010 SP1 Update Rollup 2
We are in the process of migrating users from EX2003 to EX2010. Our setup is the EX2003 server is the bridgehead and the EX2010 is in the same domain/forest etc.. and until all mailboxes are migrated over I will decomission the EX2003 server.

So currently there are two exchange servers running. I have moved one BES user over to the EX2010 server, and having a hard time getting him activated on the BES.

I have tripled checked all the permissions, and running the IEMTEST utility reports that it can indeed open the mailbox and complete without any problems.

In the event viewer I am getting the following error on the users mailbox.

{e} MAPIMailbox::MAPIMailbox(2) - OpenMsgStore (0x8004011d) failed, MailboxDN=/o=FIRST ORGANIZATION/ou=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/cn=RECIPIENTS/cn=USER, ServerDN=/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=SERVER-VM-EX01/cn=Microsoft Private MDB

{USER} MAPIMailbox::~MAPIMailbox - DeleteAllDeviceSearches (0x00000000) failed

User "Test User" not started

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Have you opened the user's mailbox with Outlook? not OWA Outlook?

Can you open it with the BES service account with Outlook?

I had support calls with BES in the past be sure you delete any old activation emails each time you attempt to activate.

Be sure that the user can receive external internet email as well.

Which version of BES? Same BES server that worked with Exchange 2003, did you follow the steps to update the BES mapi/cdo.
Set the Exchange 2010 BES policy ( once you move the BES mailbox)

Since this is a new 2010 server, is it running on Win2008? If so, is the built in firewall enabled? If so, disable it and see if that resolves the problem. If so, then open up the needed ports if you want to use it.

- Test user is my mailbox and mail is working correctly inbound/outbound etc..

Can you open it with the BES service account with Outlook?
- Works fine if I open the mailbox using the BES Service account

- BES is running 4.1.6.10 MAPI CDO is running 1.2.1 unless there is another newer version I should be updating to?

Set the Exchange 2010 BES policy ( once you move the BES mailbox)
