Sid,
Thank you for the link, but I still can't get things to work.  Here is a simple case I'm trying in Excel with Dragon.  Please tell me if you see something I'm doing wrong:

1.  "start microsoft excel"
2.  "numbers mode on"
3.  "one"
4.  "press return"
5.  "two"
6.  "press return"

At this point, I have "1" in cell  A1 and "2" in cell A2.  The cursor/attention is in cell A3.

Here is where things start "not working".

7.  "move to previous row"

nothing

8.  "move previous row"

nothing

9.  "number mode off"
10. "move to previous row"

nothing

11.  "move previous row"

nothing.

I'm using:
     windows xp service pack 3
     excel 2002
     word 2002

Dragon works great in word.  I've copied a 30 page book of county fair recipes with it.  I had just bought Dragon and I wanted to see how fast it is with Word.  I was happy.  I then tried excel and I can't get squat to work.  I've watched YouTube videos of excel with dragon and it looks great.  I get nothing...  This is disappointing because I actually bought dragon to write java code in ubuntu.  Right now I would be very happy with Excel.  Any ideas?

Works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The error with Excel/Dragon was sitting in my seat.  I don't know/care to find out where I got that command that was not working.

Thank you for the help!
