Configure WAP (modem) connection on my Nexus one HTC Android phone
Hi,

Yesterday i subsicribed for a WAP internet connection, i have android nexus one. The mobile network provider i am subscribed with does not seem to have yet the settings for  how to configure their WAP connection on android phones. Since my phone is an HTC phone, they  sent me the setting for an HTC phone but for a windows mobile OS. I tried to apply these settings on the android OS however with no success. These are the settings they sent me:

WAP configuration for HTC P3600:

1. Go to Start, Settings, Connections
2. Click on Connections. If the "My Work Network" does not appear, do the following:
a. Go to Advanced
b. Click on Select Networks
c. In the second list choose My Work Network, then click OK
d. Go to Tasks

3. Under My Work Network click on Add a new modem connection
4. Enter a name for the connection: AlfaWAP
5. Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
6. Click Next
7. Access point name: wap.mic1.com.lb
8. Click Next
9. User name: mic1
Password: mic1
Domain:
10. Click Finish

11. Under My Work Network click on Set up my proxy server
12. Select This network connects to the Internet
13. Select This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet
14. Click on Advanced¿
15. Make sure to do the exact following settings:
Server Port
HTTP: 192.168.23.50------- Port: 80
WAP: 192.168.23.50 ------ Port: 9201
16. Click OK
17. Click OK
18. Click OK
19. Click X

IS there a way i can apply these settings to my android 2.3.1 OS? Can someone please tell me the exact steps?

They claim that the reason why they don't have these settings for Android is that android OS will consume the connection very quickly! I have my suspisions about their "claim", i think it either they're too lazy to figure it out, or it simply doesn't apply. (this is what happens when a country only has 2 mobile network providers, monopoly and very bad service...).. Anyways appreciate help.

didn't work, usually on windows mobile phones, it shows another icon on the top of the screen that a data connection is there (connected), but nothing shows on the android! Should i activated somehow or turn it on from another place? How can i know that it is using this connection?

in the setup you have somthing like "mobile networks" you should activate. then you'll see the network signal icon changing on the notification bar (at the top of the screen) depending on which kind of network is available where you are located (eg H for HSPDA, G for GPRS and so on).
hope this helps

it turns out WAP cannot be configured on android phoens, only GPRS can be configured.

It is not possible to configure WAP on android as it turned out, so there's no need to continue this thread. Thanks to Greg Vander for his answer, appreciate it man.

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers, usually comprised of the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors used a cathode ray tube (CRT) about as deep as the screen size. They are connected to the computer via VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, LVDS or other proprietary connectors and signals.
