Synchronizing 2 Different Goldmines

Is the only way to add contacts from one goldmine to another through the import/export tool?

Can notes on a contact be imported/exported?

Will the Calendar have to be imported/exported separately?

Or is there a better way to add everything from one goldmine to another?

Thanks in Advance!

Two entirely separate databases on two entirely separate systems?

Create a transfer set on system A and then retrieve the transfer set on system B.

You'd do this via the synchronization wizard. (Tools | Synchronize, or File | Synchronize).

Which version of GoldMine are your using?

They are two separate databases on separate systems.

I'm using Goldmine 6.7 Corporate Edition.

(I just installed Goldmine on my laptop and I'd like it to be up to date with the Goldmine on my server)

Are there folders/files that I can just copy/paste from one computer to the other?

Try rebuilding. File | Maintenance, etc.

Also, check permissions on those folders.

By  'maintenance'  do you mean 'Maintain Databases'. Is it really possible for that mess things up?

Thank you.
Lack of maintenance can cause problems.

Oh. I was wondering if I really have to back everything up first
I would. (You mean you don't normally back up anyway?)

My server gets backed up daily, which includes goldmine. I've never done a backup through Goldmine.

The back-up wizard doesn't start b/c the 'Contact: Main...' is missing necessary files.

(Contact: CCF...' and Contact: Webdesign: WEBDESIGN' ar both missing files as well)
Just do a copy/paste of the GoldMine directory structure. Or wait 'til after your normal daily backup. Don't rely on the backup inside Goldmine. And it, also, can fail if your system needs Maintenance.

Should I have been using the backup system that Goldmine provides?

After going to File | Back-up Databases and choosing how I want it to be backed up and clicking finish, a screen pops up telling me about how some necessary file(s) are missing, I then clicked OK.

It didn't knock me off Goldmine but none of my other users can login to Goldmine they are getting the message

"cannot open the license table.

the system administrator may be rebuilding a database, therefore you cannot access Goldmine...

The table may also be opened exclusively by another application"

The backup never began...

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
