DBAN Alternatives
We are a small pc tech service, and are looking for an alternative to DBAN. DBAN does produce a .txt log that shows the hdd has been wiped, but it does not give, what we feel, is enough information to "prove" to our clients that it was indeed THEIR hdd that was wiped. We have contacted DBAN, and they do indeed have a "paid" version, but we would need a PXE network, and we do not have one, nor do we want to setup one. What we would be looking for in an alternative is:
1.) Creates DETAILED log to floppy/usb flash drive/etc.
2.) Can either be free or paid.
3.) MUST produce a detailed log, like DBAN, but more detailed (creates .txt/.doc/etc file, that includes model #, serial #, ANYTHING that we could show to the client that would further "prove" their hdd was in-fact wiped.
ANY information that would lead us to a program we can use would be awesome, and greatly appreciated.
